What would be the best distortion/overdrive pedal i could get that covers a wide variety of genres?

I am a guitar player and I am looking for a pedal that can have a nice clean feel to it while playing clean and then switching to distortion. I play a lot of genres and i cannot find any pedals myself that does all of this. Any Suggestions?
