My tattoo is starting to dry up, the surface is rough, is this normal?

I just has a tattoo done at the lower back on Monday. Today is day 5 alr. What I can say is... The skin where the tattoo covered feels really rough, and it is peeling off a little(scabs)? I didn't peel or scratch it. BUT when I slp, I'm nt sure if the friction will cause it to peel a little. Some ink came out w the skin(very minimal though)!! How much longer will this last? I'm afraid by then my tattoo would be 'gone'!! What can I do to protect it from further 'damage'? Or maybe I can retouch it a mth later?? OMG pls help, this is really disappointing....
