When I read what a decent guy Christ supposedly was I have to wonder?

Why are such a large percentage of his followers such bigoted,hateful,spiteful people. Not all of course,although even some of the nice ones are such condescending people they make you want to kick their teeth in,and the rest are just *******? What's up with that?
